JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College men's and women's swimming and diving programs are ready to leap into the 2026-27 season with well-prepared squads with the mindset of taking every lap strong at a time.
The Majors will be led by second-year head coach Andrew Foltz.
Senior Payton Jones will make his return to the water, looking to guide the Majors throughout the season as the teams' veteran leader.
In a home tri-meet against Rhodes College and Meridian Community College on Oct. 10 last season, Jones claimed first place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:17.99. He is a distance specialist and holds the school record in both the 1000-yard freestyle and 1650-yard freestyle.
Joining Jones will be Holden Cook, a National Junior College Athletic Association transfer from Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Millsaps also adds two freshmen to the men's team, Eric Blanco and Ricky Wells, who will look to make an immediate impact.
On the women's side, junior Kaleigh Tonjes and freshman Zoe Grace will look to lead the Majors, as the duo works together to make an impact throughout the season as well.
The Millsaps College men's and women's swimming and diving programs will compete in eight regular-season meets, beginning Sept. 25 before heading to the 2027 Southern Athletic Association Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, scheduled for Feb. 10-13 in Danville, Ky.
