ATLANTA, Ga. -- On Monday morning, after the conclusion of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball Tournament, the league office announced the 2018-19 SAA Men's Basketball All-Conference Awards. The award winners were selected exclusively by the league's head coaches.
For Millsaps, senior guard
Michael Sullivan earned All-SAA recognition for the second consecutive season. With his All-SAA First Team selection last year, Sullivan became the first Major to appear on on an all-conference first team since Edrick Montgomery was named First Team All-SCAC in 2007-2008. This season Sullivan wrapped up his Millsaps College career with an All-SAA Honorable Mention selection.Â
He finished the 2018-19 season as the leading scorer for the Majors averaging 11.9 points per game. That number was top-15 in the entire league. Inside of conference play Sullivan scored 11.8 points per contest which was top-10 in the SAA. He was also named the SAA Player of the Week once this season.
Sulivan led Millsaps in several offensive categories including: points (309), field goals made (101), free throws made (70), assists (64) and minutes played (682). Defensively, he was second on the team in steals with 21 and pulled down 96 total rebounds from his guard position.Â
He ends his two-year career as a Major having scored a total of 696 points for a career average of 13.4 points per game.Â
