ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Millsaps College women's tennis team closed out their annual spring break trip by dominating the Wheaton College Thunder on Thursday afternnon.
Millsaps swept all three doubles' matches to capture the early momentum, and won four of the six singles' matches for a 7-2 victory.
The win improves the Majors' record to 5-4 on the season.
How It Happened
Millsaps got out to a great start as the teams of
Grace Gaskins /
Camille Fremaux, Morris Kelly Clayton /
Maggie Dabadie, and
Marissa Brown / Jillian Sandoz swept the three double's matches.
Gaskins continued her strong play this season by opening up singles' play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot.
Fremaux scored her second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-3 win at singles No. 2.
Meanwhile, both Sandoz and Brown earned hard-fought three-set wins at singles No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. Brown dropped the opening set, but rallied back for the win.
The two Wheaton College points came at singles' No. 5 and No. 6.
