COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. -- On Tuesday, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced their selections for the Scholar All-American Teams. The Millsaps College program was one of the 461 programs stretching across NCAA Divisions I, II, III, the NAIA and the NJCAA, to earn the award.
Teams were selected on the basis of their spring 2020 grade point averages and represent a total of 17,982 student-athletes.
The men's team finished the semester with a 3.66 GPA, while the women's team combined for a 3.44.
"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes," said Head Coach
Brian Ware. "We talk about finishing strong both in the pool and the classroom, and despite the disruption in the learning environment this past semester, our athletes committed to holding up the Millsaps standard and finished the semester strong.
CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart mentioned the efforts of Coach Ware noting that "No team was unaffected by this Spring's pandemic but Athletic Director Pelch and Provost Dunn can and should be proud of their team and the work of Brian."
