MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Millsaps women's soccer team played its first regular season conference match since October 2019, but came up short to Rhodes, 2-0 on Saturday.
Junior goalkeeper
Maddie Moore made six saves on eight shots for the Majors. Both
Alexi Martinez and
Beyla Bleichner recorded shots on goal for Millsaps.
Liz Vega opened the scoring at 29 seconds to give the Lynx a very early 1-0 advantage. Both teams would battle back and forth with the same score until late into the second half.
Vega would add another tally in the 71st minute courtesy of a penalty kick to increase to Rhodes lead to 2-0.
Millsaps will travel to face Hendrix next Saturday, March 20, beginning at 12 p.m.
