JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's soccer team fell in a back-and-forth match hosting LSU Shreveport at Harper Davis Field, 2-0 on Friday.
The Majors tallied an 8-3 shots on-target advantage, but a duo of Pilot goalies stood tall. Freshman defender
Camille Blanchard continued to show her dual-threat ability with eight shot attempts and five shots on goal.
Both teams managed four corner kicks, while LSU-Shreveport (2-2-2) did produce a slight edge in total shot attempts at 18-13.
Scoring for the visitors were Alyssa Castillo in the 38th minute and Gabriela de Jesus in the 75th.
Millsaps (0-4-1) looked poised to score in the first half with four shot attempts by Blanchard, but ultimately the Pilots entered intermission with a 1-0 lead.

Chloee Beebe and Blanchard all tallied further attempts between the 67th and 74th minute before de Jesus put the Pilots up 2-0, which resulted in the final score.
The Majors return to challenge LaGrange College in Georgia on Sunday. The match has been moved up to a 11 a.m. CT start time. Live video and live stats are also available at gomajors.com.
