JACKSON, Miss. – After a condensed 10-game schedule in the spring, the Millsaps men's basketball team is ready to face its first full slate of games since the 2019-2020 season.
Millsaps will kick off the season in Yellowhammer State of Alabama against Huntingdon College on Nov. 5. They will then play in their first home game inside the Hangar Dome for a mid-week contest against crosstown foe Belhaven on Nov. 9.
The Majors will find themselves competing on the hardwood often heading into the holiday season. They will head to the Lone Star State where they will participate in two contests against Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University at the LeTourneau University Classic from Nov. 12-13.
A week later Millsaps will be hosting a tournament of their own from Nov. 20-21 Centenary College will face East Texas Baptist University in the first game while the Majors will compete in a rematch from the season opener against Huntingdon. On the following day, there will be first- and third-place games.
After a few more regular season contests, the Majors will begin the new year with conference play at Birmingham-Southern on Jan. 3. After a compilation of the conference games, Senior Day for the Majors will come full circle on Feb. 9 in the home finale against the same Birmingham-Southern Panthers. Millsaps will end their regular season on a two-game road trip against Rhodes College and Hendrix College on Feb. 11 and 13, respectively.
The SAA Tournament will take place on Feb. 20 and Feb. 26-27. The top four seeds of the eight-team tournament will host a home game in the quarterfinals while the remaining four teams will travel to the highest remaining seed for the semifinals and finals the following weekend.
