JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's soccer team fell behind early and couldn't recover as Oglethorpe earned a 6-0 win at Harper Davis Field on Friday.
The Majors tallied five shot attempts with two on target. Rising freshman goalkeeper
Michael Hamauei tallied eight saves in the first half, while classmate
Jack Maloney totaled five stops in the second.
After Oglethorpe scored on a penalty kick in the fifth minute, freshman
Ai Suzuki found some space and forced the Stormy Petrel keeper to make a quality stop in response.
The visitors would accumulate three more goals to take a 4-0 cushion into halftime. Sophomore
Kade Folse posted the other shot for the Majors in the 28th minute.
Oglethorpe would score again in the 56th and 82nd minutes for a final 6-0 count.
