JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs hosted Berry College for the second day of their conference home opening weekend on Sunday. The men's team was victorious 7-2, while the women's team was downed 7-2 at the Coach Montgomery Courts. Both teams will be back in action to host Birmingham-Southern next Friday, April 15.

In doubles play,
Trevor Vaccaro and
Hamilton Jackson kicked off play with a thriller on Court 1 as they prevailed with an 8-7 win in a 10-8 tiebreaker. The teams of

Brady St. Martin would also claim victories to complete the sweep in duo play for the men.
After a slow start for Kimball, he would rally and win 12 of the next 13 sets in a three-set series. It would be a similar theme for Vaccaro when he dropped the first set, but regrouped nicely for 6-0 and 6-2 victories in sets two and three. Jackson and Hamilton also picked up uplifting wins while not losing any sets in the process.

Madison Williams showed well, but Berry would hold strong to complete the sweep.
In singles action, Fremaux preserved for the first victory of the day for the Majors as she only dropped one game in her entire match. In the final match of the day, Williams outlasted her opponent in a marathon of a match. After dropping the first set 2-6, she won the second set 6-3 and outdueled the Viking in a 10-8 thrilling tiebreak.
