ATLANTA – Both Millsaps men's and women's cross country programs were selected to finish the season fifth by the Southern Athletic Association preseason polls on Thursday.
Coaches from across the conference predicted the season's eventual order of finish from first to eighth for both genders. A first-place vote garnered a team eight points, a second-place vote netted them seven points, a third-place vote six, etc.
The men earned 30 points, while the women tallied 31 points to sit in the middle of the rankings. Both programs bring back a majority of their talent from last season which saw both teams finish fifth at the 2021 SAA Cross Country Championships. All-Conference performers

The Majors begin the season at the Mississippi College Opener in Clinton on Friday, Sept. 2, while the SAA Championships will be held at Veterans Park in Hoover, Ala. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
