HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Millsaps Women's golf team competed in its first event of the fall at the Carey Collegiate Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Canebrake Country Club, finishing eighth overall in the competitive tournament.
Starting off strong was sophomore
Annie Piggott finished tied for 24th with both a First and Second Round score of 81. She closed with an 83 to fire a 245 (+29) showing the impact of being a team leader with a Millsaps-best effort.
Senior
Kati Albright and sophomore
Sophia Albasini also scored well in the tournament. Gaining momentum Albright closed to a plus-68 (92-97-95—284). Albasini would add her nearly identical score of plus-70 (94-93-99—286).
Finalizing the score for the women's team was sophomore
Mallory Noble (96-100-100—296), while sophomore
Claire Reynolds completed two rounds of the event. (114-109).
The Majors will be back in action at the Rhodes Fall Classic on the Mirimichi Golf Course in Milton Tenn., Oct. 3-4.
