JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men and women's tennis programs opened the 2023 spring season against Jackson State at the JSU Tennis Complex on Saturday. The Tigers bested both teams by 7-0 scores.
The Majors will next trek to Ellisville, Miss. to face Jones College on Saturday, March 4. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
Women's Recap: L, 0-7
The pairing of sophomore
Mary Dabaide and junior
Madison Williams were leading their JSU opponents on Court 2 doubles, 3-2 when the point was clinched. Using NCAA Division I scoring, the Tigers claimed the doubles point with 6-0 victories on Courts 1 and 3.
Jackson claimed wins on all six singles courts, but several Majors claimed games against quality competition. Senior
Camille Fremaux, sophomore
Mackenzie Vordick and Dabadie each won a game, while sophomore
Kiana Everhart claimed two games.
Williams put up a great battle in the second set, falling 6-3 on Court 3.

Jakub Bobinski put up a valiant effort and trailed 4-3 on Court 1 doubles when the doubles point was clinched.
Freshman
Sam Tuli gave his Tiger opponent all he could handle, falling 6-1, 7-6 on Court 5 singles. Bobinski was also strong in defeat as he was bested, 6-3, 6-4 on Court 4.
Chassaignac and graduate
John Kimball fell, 6-2, 6-2 on Courts 1 and 2, respectively.
