MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs fought valiantly, but fell in a pair of matches at NCAA Division II Christian Brothers on Friday. The men were defeated, 5-1 while the women were stopped, 7-0 at the Eldon Roark Tennis Center.
 
Millsaps will next face Birmingham-Southern in Memphis, beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 14. Saturday's match was rescheduled and moved due to anticipated rainy weather.
 
Men's Recap: L, 5-1
 
Graduate John Kimball had a terrific match, earning two victories on Friday. He paired up with senior Hamilton Jackson and were victorious on Court 3 doubles, 8-6. Both duos of sophomores Carson Chassaignac and junior Jakub Bobinski along with senior Trevor Vaccaro and freshman Sam Tuli were edged in thrilling tiebreakers, 8-7 (7-5) on Courts 1 and 2, respectively.
 
Kimball further impressed with a 6-1, 6-4 winner on Court 1 singles. Chassaignac and Jackson both lost in the closest contests, 6-4, 6-4 on Courts 2 and 4. Senior Kells Hecht lost his first set 6-4 when the match finished.

Junior Madison Williams and sophomore Mary Dabadie were triumphant on Court 3 doubles in another thrilling tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-5). The hosts won on Courts 1 and 2 to clinch the doubles point.
 
Christian Brothers swept the rest of the match with Dabadie and sophomore Mackenzie Vordick putting up the best resistance in singles. Dabadie fell in a terrific contest, 6-4, 5-7, 11-9 on Court 3, while Vordick was stalled, 6-3, 6-2 on Court 5.
