CLINTON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's cross country programs ended the season on a strong note at the NCAA Division III South Region Cross Country Championships at the Choctaw Trails on Saturday.
Senior Sarah Strickland led the Majors with a 70th-place finish out of 169 NCAA Division III runners. She covered six kilometers in 24 minutes, 53.18 seconds.
The women's squad also finished 19th out of 24 NCAA III programs.
Following close behind Strickland was classmate
Fran Edwards, who took 88th in 25:29.79.
Senior Tyler Hamby stood out in 129th at 27:15.88.
Not far from Hamby was freshman Claudia Dempsey (134th; 27:33.90) and senior
MacKenzie Farris (137th; 27:57.20), who rounded out the Major scoring.
Classmate
Abby Henry (160th; 31:45.04) and sophomore
Elle Powers (161st; 32:13.62) all had solid performances as well to conclude the season.
On the men's side, senior Patch Heard (139th; 31:41.99) and freshman Aidan Brice (158th; 36:07.28) both gave their best for the Majors on an eight-kilometer course.
