ATLANTA – The Millsaps men's soccer team faced No. 2 Oglethorpe in the SAA Tournament First Round on Saturday, but were bested by a score of 3-0.

Michael Hamauei made seven saves for the Majors, while sophomore
Ethan Pratt registered a shot on target. Juniors
Lane Kirk and Fisher DeCamp provided shot attempts in the low-scoring battle.
It was a very defensive first half for the Majors as they allowed eight total shots, four on goal and one goal scored. Hamauei came up with three saves in the opening 45 minutes and the back line of the Majors was headed by senior captain Kade Folse helped keep the chances down.
Oglethorpe netted the match's first tally in the 14th minute. Hamauei then pushed aside back-to-back tries in the 20th minutes and another in the 25th minute. The Stormy Petrels added a chance that hit the crossbar in the 30th minute.
However, late in the first half the Majors saw opportunities to try and tie the match. Pratt tallied a shot on goal from a freshman Ellis Dykes that would be saved in the 39th minute. Junior Lane Kirk would also try and tie the match off a header that was corralled in the 44th minute. Even though a goal was not produced, it gave the Majors momentum and showed promise for the second half.
The Storming Petrels would take the momentum back early in the second half with their second goal of the match in the 50th minute.
Oglethorpe then forced a penalty kick try in the box moments later. Hamauei would get a big save off the shot, preserving a two-goal deficit five minutes later.
Hamauei secured another impressive save in the 57th minute, but the Stormy Petrels would tally another goal in the 65th minute to extending their lead to 3-0.
DeCamp followed with the final Millsaps attempt in the 80th minute with the shot going wide left. The Majors would fall, 3-0 ending their season, but the team once again showed tremendous promise for the future under head coach
Gentry Johnson.
