PEARL, Miss. – The pitching staffs combined to hold the Millsaps and Belhaven baseball teams to nine hits as the Majors fell to the Blazers, 4-0 in Game One of the Cowboy Maloney Series on Wednesday night.
Millsaps (11-10) held Belhaven to six hits and struck out nine batters. The Major staff was led by graduate
Wil Wood and sophomore
Taylor Lowe who both threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts each. Senior
Jackson Hood recorded three strikeouts with two hits, two runs and a walk against in the eighth inning.
Freshman
Degan Hensley secured two walks, while senior

The Majors threatened in the top of the first with a Hensley walk, Page single and junior
Bradley Pelle hit by pitch. Belhaven (9-8) utilized a fly out to center field to end the opportunity.

The Blazers broke the stalemate in the bottom of the third with a pair of bases-loaded walks.
Page later reached second following a hit by pitch and ground out in the sixth, but a pop up held the score at 2-0.
With two outs in the seventh, Wix singled and graduate
Branyan Bounds walked before another timely ground out held in Belhaven's favor. A two-out double extended the Blazer margin to 4-0 in the eighth.
Millsaps worked to stay alive in the ninth when sophomore
