DICKSON, Tenn. – The Millsaps men's and women's golf programs opened the 2024 SAA Golf Championships at the Greystone Golf Club with Round One action on Friday.

Junior Annie Piggott powered the Millsaps women's squad with a third-place showing thus far, while freshman Preston Severs is the top Millsaps men's competitor in 16th. The women are competing on a par-72 course spanning 5,601 yards, while the men are playing on a varying par-72 course. Round One covered 6,728 yards and saw the men's team rank seventh against quality SAA foes at plus-16.

Piggott carded a stellar 1-over 73 with 13 pars and two birdies. Her par total was third most and birdie count was tied for fifth overall. The Lindsay, Ontario, product is only three strokes back of the leader.

Sophomore Lily Moore and junior Sophia Albasini both finished plus-23 to complete the Millsaps women's competitors.

In the men's competition, Severs began his first collegiate championship with a 2-over 74 to sit 16th. The Lakewood Ranch, Fla., native posted an impressive 14 pars through 18 holes.

Only one stroke behind was graduate Krtin Udith, ranking 23rd and securing 13 pars. Rounding out the Millsaps scorers includes junior Will Danielson (plus-5, t-31st) and freshman Juan Moral (plus-6, t-34th). Danielson has collected three birdies, while Moral matched Severs with 14 pars. The 14 pars are third most after Friday.

Graduate Price Bryan (plus-7, t-38th) and freshman Davin Karst (plus-8, t-41st) are also in the mix for the Majors.

The Millsaps men's golf squad will resume with Round Two, beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the women will commence at 7:40 a.m. Live scoring links are available at gomajors.com.
