MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Millsaps women's tennis team's postseason ended after falling to No. 4 seed Centre, 5-0 in the SAA Women's Tennis Quarterfinal at the Adams Tennis Center on Friday.
The Majors gave their best on the courts with several close matchups despite the contest ending in a clinch decision.
Graduate Camille Fremaux and senior Madison Williams went head-to-head against their competition on Court Two doubles, falling in a hard-fought, 7-3 tiebreaker.
Junior Segen Lister and classmate Mackenzie Vordick teamed up for a close, 8-5 defeat on Court Three.
Centre would close doubles with a crucial 3-0 lead.
In singles, Fremaux would win her first set 7-6 courtesy of a 7-5 tiebreaker, but the matchup ended unfinished on Court One.
Williams also played well on Court Two with a 7-5 set one win against her challenger. The Slidell, La., native would keep battling and trail, 3-2 when the match was clinched.
Senior Kiana Everhart dominated a first-set tiebreaker, 7-1 and was ahead, 1-0 in set two on Court Three as Centre claimed the match victory.
Vordick nearly secured a point after claiming the opening set, 6-4 and up, 4-1 on Court Five. The Colonels secured singles wins on Courts Four and Six despite Lister narrowly falling, 7-5 in her second set.
