JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's soccer team (2-5-2) registered a hard-fought tie after drawing MUW, 1-1 at Harper Davis Field on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Alex Bremond led the way for the Majors with a goal along with seven shot attempts and four shots on goal.
Junior Haley James recorded three shots and two shots on goal. Sophomore
Mollie Spradley collected an assist and a pair of shots on goal. Additionally, freshman
Zilia Biniam managed six shot attempts with one on frame.

Emily Lozano posted four saves in the effort.
Millsaps outshot the Owls, 21-8 with a 9-5 on-target margin as well. The Owls played a physical match with three yellow cards. The Majors also managed 15 corner kicks and held MUW (1-5-2) to zero.
Biniam would take the first shot for Millsaps in the third minute demonstrating the Majors would have chances early and often.
Moments later Bremond would almost have the perfect shot to tally the opening goal. However, the ball would shadow left away from the crossbar at the 10th minute.
In the 23rd minute, the Owls would secure the first goal of the match when a bouncing ball found its way outside of the box and powered home over Lozano's gloves.
Bremond continued to challenge her opponents with opportunities in the 37th and 39th minutes, but MUW held strong defensively and led 1-0 at intermission.
In the second half, Millsaps earned a corner kick right out the gate. Bremond would be stopped on the ensuing chance.
MUW tried to extend their lead in the 51st minute, but Lozano made the stop.
With 18 minutes left in the second half, Bremond tied the match off a header that Spradley sailed perfectly from the corner kick position.
Both teams would trade chances and remain in a 1-1 draw as time expired on Tuesday night.
The Majors will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 28 against Rhodes College in the Southern Athletic Association opener, beginning at 1 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn. L
