CANTON, Ga. — In the first Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week announcement of the 2025-26 season, senior center
Elyse Warren was recognized as the co-recipient of the award as she continued her impressive double-double habits. She received the honor after a league-wide Sports Information Directors' vote and published by the SAA office on Monday.
Warren tallied a pair of double-doubles to help lead the Majors against U-Dallas and MUW, averaging 10.5 points, 17 rebounds and an assist over the weekend. She tallied 10 points and 18 rebounds against the Crusaders on Friday, then proceeded to add 11 points and 16 rebounds as the Majors fended off the Owls on Saturday.
The senior secured her fifth career SAA weekly honor after collecting two in each of her sophomore and junior seasons, respectively. Last year Warren was second in the conference with 271 rebounds (10 rpg) and tallied 291 points (10.8 ppg).
Warren was named All-SAA Second Team in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons along with being named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team. Additionally, she secured All-SAA Honorable Mention status as a freshman.
The Majors will be back in action at home facing the Ladies of Centenary College on Friday. Tipoff will take place at 6 p.m. with live video and live stats available at gomajors.com.
