Tennis Falls to Nationally Ranked Dillard University

Anderson Dulaney Records Match Win for Majors on Saturday

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis teams competed against NAIA nationally ranked Dillard University to open the season on Saturday. The men were bested by No. 16 Dillard, 6-1 and the No. 11 women bested the Majors, 7-0 at the Dillard University Tennis Courts.
 
Millsaps will next host Blue Mountain Christian University on Saturday, March 1 and Jones College on Sunday, March 2. Both matches will begin at 11 a.m. at the Coach Montgomery Courts.

Men's Recap vs. Dillard: 6-1, L

The Bleu Devils were tough against the Majors, but senior Anderson Dulaney prevailed on Court 3 singles. He bested his opponent in three thrilling sets (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).

Classmate Carson Chassaignac claimed two games in the first set on Court 2, but ultimately fell (6-2, 6-1).

The Major doubles teams each won at least two games each with junior Sam Tuli and Dulaney falling, 6-3.

Freshman Sebastian Gonzalez and sophomore Caleb Solangi made their collegiate debuts.

Women's Recap vs. Dillard: 7-0, L

Dillard proved tough in the women's matches as well. However, seniors Mary Dabadie and Mackenzie Vordick led their opponents, 3-1 as the doubles point was clinched.

Senior Segen Lister and freshman Skylar Spinks each won two games in their second sets on Courts 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Spinks and freshman Riley McClain both debuted for the Majors.
