CANTON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's golf team won a head-to-head matchup, hosting MUW at Deerfield Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday.
Senior
Annie Piggott and freshman
Abigail Cerwick placed first and second, respectively to propel the Majors. Millsaps combined to shoot a plus-109, well in front of MUW's plus-207 in the dual.
Piggott earned her fourth individual win of the season and third straight triumph. It was also her fifth collegiate victory after carding a plus-17 (84-77—161).
Cerwick was only five strokes back in second at plus-22 (84-82—166).
The senior duo of
Sophia Albasini (88-91—179) and
Mallory Noble (93-86—179) finished tied for fifth at plus-35. Noble competed in her second event of the season and recorded 36-hole and one-round lows.
The Millsaps men's and women's golf programs will next compete at the 2025 Southern Athletic Association Golf Championships in Dickson, Tenn., April 25-27.
