Volleyball Wears Down Oglethorpe, 3-1 in Regular-Season Road Finale

Anna Ware Boasts 26 Assists, Khloe Duncan Registers 20 Kills in Sunday’s Victory

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Millsaps College volleyball team wrapped up its 2026 regular-season road slate on a high note, defeating Oglethorpe University, 3-1, on Sunday inside the Mallory Gymnasium.

One impressive takeaway from today's performance was the Majors' ability to bounce back after dropping the opening set, 21-25. Millsaps showed resilience and teamwork, working together to defeat the Stormy Petrels in each of the remaining three sets

Millsaps finished with 59 kills on a .344 hitting percentage, while Oglethorpe had 46 kills and hit .226. Freshman Khloe Duncan led the Majors with 20 kills and 20.5 points, while sophomore Madelynn Sasser added 11 kills on a . 400 hitting percentage, and senior Amelia Bohl had 10 kills while hitting. 500 to battle past the Stormy Petrels.

Sophomore Anna Ware was a star in today's matchup, where she had fun on the court, registering 26 assists. Classmate Rachel Zamjahn brought a positive attitude, where she accumulated 20 assists.

Tied third in the conference with 78 total blocks, junior Zoë LaCaze opened the match with a kill from Zamjahn, and Millsaps also got early production from Duncan, sophomore Lily Luneau, and sophomore Kinney Boyle while moving ahead 6-3. Oglethorpe answered with five straight points to go in front 8-6.

The Majors remained locked in to come back to tie the set at 8-8 and later at 12-12 on a LaCaze ace. After Millsaps' 16-14 edge, the Stormy Petrels scored the next five points, and although Sasser delivered three late kills and Bohl added a kill from Zamjahn, Oglethorpe closed out the set 25-21.

With nothing taking away from Majors on how they responded in the late rally. Millsaps finished the second set by turning a 19-16 edge into a 25-16 win, taking the final six points and the last five on Zamjahn's serve.

Oglethorpe pushed back from a 17-10 deficit to get within 18-15 and later 19-16, but Millsaps answered with Ware's kill from Boyle. Zamjahn then served out the set as Bohl and LaCaze added kills before Zamjahn delivered two aces, closing Millsaps' 25-16 set victory.

Millsaps overcame a 16-12 deficit in the third set and finished with a 25-21 win, using a late push after Oglethorpe had narrowed the margin to one.

Earlier, Duncan helped keep the Majors in contact with multiple kills, while Sasser and Luneau combined on a block as Millsaps worked back from an early 12-6 hole to 14-12. LaCaze then served Millsaps through a five-point response from 16-12 down to a 17-16 lead, delivering back-to-back aces before Bohl added consecutive kills.

After the set was tied at 17, Millsaps answered with points from Duncan and Sasser and pressure from Ware's serve to build a 22-17 edge, then closed the set on a Duncan kill, a Boyle kill, and an sophomore Atlee Gonzales ace. Millsaps broke open the fourth set with a 10-0 surge, moving from a 4-2 lead to a 14-2 advantage after Duncan's sideout kill sent Ware to the service line for nine straight service points.

Sophomore Laila Fredieu had started the set with back-to-back aces, and during Ware's service turn, Duncan put down three kills, Luneau and Sasser added one apiece, and Ware recorded an ace, while Oglethorpe committed multiple attack errors.

Oglethorpe trimmed the score from 20-10 to 20-15, Millsaps steadied the finish with a Bohl kill from Zamjahn and two late Duncan kills, the second putting Millsaps ahead 24-17. Luneau closed the set with a kill from Ware for a 25-17 Millsaps win.
