CANTON, Ga. — Millsaps College women's basketball junior guard
Garin Freeman's tremendous efforts in Texas were recognized by conference Sports Information Directors as she was named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Freeman was electric, helping the Majors best Southwestern (75-68) and Trinity (73-72) last Friday and Sunday. Freeman averaged 21.5 points, four rebounds, 3.5 assists, three steals and added a block. She combined to shoot 58 percent (19-for-33 FG) and played all 80 minutes across both matchups.
The reigning SAA Defensive Player of the Year secured her first career SAA weekly honor. She now joins senior
Elyse Warren, who currently holds three SAA weekly plaudits this season.
