Men’s Basketball Trio Named to All-Conference Team

Majors Secure Honorable Mention Status, Donley Makes All-Sportsmanship Team

CANTON, Ga. — A Millsaps College men's basketball trio took home All-Southern Athletic Association Honorable Mention honors, while junior Colt Donley made the All-SAA Sportsmanship Team, following a league coaches' votes and announcement on Tuesday. 
 
Junior Jaxon Toney, junior Davion James and senior Caleb Kent were all selected All-SAA Honorable Mention after helping the Majors finish the regular season 15-10 and enter the 2026 SAA Men's Championship as the No. 4 seed.
 
Toney, a 6-foot-7 center from Memphis, Tenn., was a dominant force on offense and defense for the Majors. He is currently ranked third in the conference and 52nd nationally with 39 blocks. 

He also as the third-most double-doubles in the SAA with seven after averaging a team-high 12.1 points per game. 
 
His 6.9 rebounds per game stand sixth as well. Toney also holds 19 steals, 28 assists and is shooting 56.8 percent from the floor (121-of-213 FG). 
 
James, a 6-foot-2 guard from Brandon, Miss., also was a force on both ends of the court. He currently stands second in the SAA in both steals (59) and steals per contest (2.4).  

He also is 11th in the conference with 66 assists and 12th at 2.6 assists per game. Additionally, James is averaging 11.9 points, and 4.1 rebounds to go along with 66 assists, and four blocks in 27.7 minutes per game. 
 
Kent, also a 6-foot-2 guard hailing from Madison, Miss., made the All-SAA Honorable Mention squad for the second consecutive season. 
 
He is sixth currently among SAA scorers, connecting on 51.6 percent of his field-goal attempts (128-of-248 FG). 
 
Kent is third on the team at 11.6 points per game and is averaging 5.1 rebounds. He also enters the tournament with 25 steals, 28 assists and four blocks.
 
Donley, a 6-foot-3 guard from Newnan, Ga., as appeared in all 25 games thus far like his teammates. 
 
In 23 starts, he averages 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and is excelling at the free-throw line at 73.9 percent (68-of-92 FG). 
 
The newly minted SAA All-Sportsmanship Team member has 35 assists, 15 steals and three blocks. 
 
The Millsaps College men's basketball team next returns to the court in the 2026 SAA Men's Basketball Championship. The Majors will face No. 5 seed Southwestern at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday in Mount Berry, Ga. Live video and live stats will be provided at gommajors.com.
