Men's Basketball Aims for Conference Crown at SAA Championship

Majors Take on No. 5 Southwestern in Postseason Opener on Thursday

JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College men's basketball team earned the right to compete in the 2026 SAA Men's Basketball Championship. The tournament will be hosted by Berry College inside the Cage Center in Mount Berry, Ga., Thursday through Saturday.

All matchups will feature live video and live stats. Links are available below and on the Millsaps men's basketball schedule page at gomajors.com.

No. 4 Millsaps College

Millsaps looks to make some noise in the conference championship as they enter the postseason with a 15-10 record (6-8 SAA).

The Majors will be led by junior center Jaxon Toney and senior guard Caleb Kent. Toney leads the team in points averaging 12.1 points per game and leads the team in blocks with 39. Kent leads the team in made field goals with 128 on the season and is third on the team in total points with 289 on the year.

Junior guard Cameron Lumar will be another big contributor for the Majors, leading the team in 3-point field goals and averages 10.7 points per game.

No. 1 Rhodes College

Rhodes comes into the post season with a 21-4 overall record (12-2 SAA).

The Lynx are led by senior Phil Dotson, who is averaging 21.2 points and 2.6 assists per game. Dotson also contributed 65 points from the free throw line.

Other top performers for Rhodes are junior Shawn Jones Jr. (6.2 rebounds per game), senior Jackson Huxtable (16.3 ppg).

No. 2 Trinity University

The Tigers are heading into the postseason after a strong regular season at 20-5 (12-2 SAA) and look to capitalize and make it to the conference championship.

The sophomore duo in Jackson Lawson and Will Bronson will be leading the charge for the Tigers. Averaging 13.9 and 13.5 ppg respectively, the tigers will most likely look to get them the ball and utilize them on the perimeter and in the post.

Dean Balo will also be an impact player for the Tigers averaging 11.8 ppg and 76 total assists on the year.

No. 3 Centre College

Centre holds a 13-11 record (6-8 SAA) and are led by sophomore Drake Ingram. He leads the team with 15.1 points per game.

Nolan Wahl, another competitor for the Colonels, averages 10.8 points per game and tops the team with 169 rebounds on the year.

No. 5 Southwestern University

The pirates look to make a run in post season as well coming off a 12-13 (6-8 SAA) season.

Leading the charge is senior guard Shobby Enakpene, who leads the team with 17.3 points per game, and 61 assists on the season.

Alongside him is Aedan Lewis who averages 12.1 points per game, and 137 rebounds on the season.

Senior Luke Hatcher will also be a valuable piece with 130 rebounds on the season.

No. 6 Sewanee

Sewanee hopes for an underdog story as they come in with a 10-15 (6-8 SAA) record.

The Tigers are led by junior Fletcher Bigham, who averages 19 points per game and 11 rebounds per game.

Freshman Nikolas Avaliani, another playmaker for the Tigers, contributes heavily with 18.2 points per game and 91 free throws made during the season.
