JACKSON, Miss. – Millsaps College men's and women's tennis took their first road trip of the season this past Saturday and Sunday, facing off against two tough teams in Blue Mountain Christian and Huntington.
The men were defeated by Blue Mountain, 0-7, and also by Huntington, 2-5. The women's team fell to Blue Mountain, 1-6, but were able to pick up a much important victory, beating Huntingdon 6-1 in the following game.
The Majors will be on the road again on Sunday where they face Copiah-Lincoln Community College at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday February, 15.

The Majors had a tough outing to open up their weekend against Blue Mountain Christian, where they lost all of the matches they played.
Notably, Sebastian Gonzalez was almost able to put the Majors on the board, when he took set number two, and then narrowly lost the tie breaker.

The Majors were able to grab two points off of Huntingdon on Sunday, both being in doubles play.
Sam Tuli and Bradley Schiaffino got the Majors started, earning a 6-3 win in doubles. Following that momentum, Sebastian Gonzalez and Anderson Causey secured themselves a doubles win, 6-4.

The Majors clashed with Blue Mountain Christian on Saturday, where they unfortunately fell 1-6 in the match.
Riley McClain got her season started well in singles play, where she was able to win her first of the season in a tie-breaking set.

The Majors showed out against Huntingdon on Sunday, beating the Hawks 6-1 in total.
They were able to go 3-0 on the doubles courts, where it took an extra effort from Bella-Bennett Graham and Virginia Trible where they won in a tie-breaking set to sweep the hawks in doubles.
To say that success continued would be an understatement, as five of the six Majors won in doubles. Alexis Oliver, Riley McClain, Malakie Smith, and Skylar Spinks were all able to win their matches in two straight sets.
Most notably, Virginia Trible won a long fought match, where she once again won her second of the day in extra sets. This is the first win of her blossoming Millsaps tennis career.
