JACKSON, Miss. – A terrific second-half comeback helped the Millsaps College women's flag football program earn its first-ever victory, downing Centenary College, 24-18 at Harper Davis Field on Saturday. The Majors rallied by scoring 24 unanswered points.

Centenary opening the scoring with two minutes left in the first quarter on a short rushing play to the outside. The Ladies then converted a crucial fourth down and were able to score on third down to make it 12-0 later in the opening half.
Millsaps was able to get on the scoreboard when King ran a reverse down the field and sprinted along the sideline for 44 yards with under three minutes until halftime.
The Majors continued their momentum and dominated the second half when Anderson found Freeman in the middle of the end zone on the first offensive play. After Millsaps forced a short punt, the Majors tied up the game on a 29-yard passing completion.
Senior
Elyse Warren continued the team's strong defensive play by hauling in an interception, giving Millsaps possession right back. Cerniglia then reentered as quarterback and she bought time in the backfield before finding Freeman again for an 11-yard score, pushing the Majors ahead, 18-12.
The Majors looked to ice the game away in the fourth quarter. Freeman made a great 21-yard catch with a defender guarding her closely, and she was able to make a deflected catch with the help of her knees. She followed this up with an 18-yard rushing score after alluding two defenders.
Centenary was able to answer with a 61-yard rushing score up the middle in the final two minutes. The Majors closed out the clock by pushing the ball down field following a 45-yard completion from Anderson to Freeman. Centenary only had six seconds left to run one final play after a turnover on downs, but it was stopped helping the Majors secure a 24-18 win.
Millsaps concludes its club campaign on Saturday, April 25 in Conway, Ark. The Majors will face host Hendrix College at 10 a.m. before facing Southwestern Christian College at 11 a.m.
