Tennis Unable to Overcome Centre, Sewanee

Majors Hosted Colonels, Tiger Over the Weekend

JACKSON, Miss. -- The Millsaps College men's and women's tennis programs contested a pair of tough matches, hosting Centre College and Sewanee on Saturday and Sunday at the Coach Montgomery Courts. Centre yielded just won one game, while the nationally ranked Tigers secured all 11 games for themselves.
 

Women's Recap vs. Centre, 4-0, L

The Majors matched up wirh Centre on Saturday, where they unfortunately fell 4-0 in the match.

Most notably, Skylar Spinks won her first set in singles, and was tied 1-1 on sets when her match went unfinished.

Millsaps faced off with No. 30 Sewanee on Sunday, where they lost 7-0 in the match.

In what was a challenging matchup to end their weekend, Riley McClain and Bella-Bennett Graham were able to score the most points for the Majors in singles.

The Majors started their weekend off Saturday morning where they dropped a tough one against Centre.

Sam Tuli continued doing what he does best, winning. Tuli was able to team up with Jon Nguyen to take one of the doubles courts, and was victorious in his singles match as well.

Men's Recap vs. No. 14 Sewanee, 4-0, L

The Majors faced their toughest matchup of the season this Sunday against the No. 14 Sewanee Tigers.

Jon Nguyen had himself a good day, where him and Sam Tuli were narrowly defeated in doubles and Nguyen took the first set of his singles match before the contest ultimately went unfinished.
