ATLANTA – The Millsaps College women's basketball program received praise after earning 2025-26 Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Academic Team Honor Roll Special Mention recognition, which was announced by the WBCA on Tuesday.
The Millsaps College women's basketball program was ranked with 118 other teams across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA Divisions for carrying a 3.189 cumulative team GPA, representing a degree of excellence off the court and inside the classroom.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 and Special Mention lists recognize women's college basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. A team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach who must be a member of the WBCA. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 ranked teams we honor this year across all five collegiate membership divisions strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"
The Majors finished the 2025-26 regular season with an overall record of 21-8, while being conference postseason champions for the second time in program history, and earned a spot in the 2026 NCAA Basketball Championship.
Senior Elyse Warren was named a 2026 WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches' All-American Honorable Mention on March 19. The Memphis, Tenn., native recently was also voted the 2025-26 Southern Athletic Association Woman of the Year.
A total of 10 student-athletes from the Millsaps women's basketball team were named to the 2026 SAA Spring Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, three scholar-athletes from the program received their undergraduate degrees during the Millsaps College 2026 Spring Commencement.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association is the professional association for coaches of women's and girls' basketball at all levels of competition.
