Assistant Coach Michael Sullivan worked closely with player development in his first season in the spring of 2021 – including freshman Cameron Williams who went on to earn Second Team All-SAA honors.
As a player, Sullivan was a two-year letter-winner at Texas Lutheran University, where he helped the Bulldogs win two Conference Championships and earn consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearances (2015-2016 and 2016-2017) as well as a school-record best season of 21-7 prior to playing for the Majors.
Sullivan transferred to Millsaps and played two more seasons as an upperclassman. During Sullivan’s junior year, the Majors improved their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win total by five games and won the most games for the program since the 2010-2011 campaign.
Sullivan helped lead a defensive system that led the conference in defensive field goal percentage and was second in the league in three-point defensive field goal percentage.
He led the Majors in scoring, broke the SAA conference record for made three-point field goals in a single game (10) and received First-Team All-SAA honors, a first for a Millsaps men’s basketball player since 2007-2008. He was also named the Millsaps Male Athlete Newcomer of the Year during 2017-2018.
Sullivan was able to lead the team in scoring, assists and earned All-SAA honors in 2018-2019. He earned All-Academic honors four times and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Millsaps College in 2019.
