Kurt Albrecht joined the Millsaps College team in February of 2019 as the
head coach for the men’s soccer program. During his three seasons, Albrecht coached four All-Conference team honorees including Second Team All-SAA Brett Judd and Jacks Dowdy.
Kurt, who finishes his tenure at Millsaps with nearly 14 years of college coaching experience under his belt, arrived in Jackson after a stop at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. While at IC he led the Blueboys to winning records in two of his four seasons at the helm. He also had four players earn All-Midwest Conference selections along the way. Albrecht left Illinois College second on the program’s all-time wins list.
Prior to his time in Jacksonville, Albrecht spent two seasons at St. Ambrose University as a men’s and women’s soccer assistant coach. During his time there, the Fighting Bees men’s program enjoyed their first winning season in five years, as well as the program’s first national ranking.
His coaching career has also included stops as an assistant at both Elmhurst College and Augustana College.
Albrecht has also coached at the professional level in both the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
Kurt’s playing career included earning a scholarship coming out of high school to play for DePaul University at the NCAA Division I level. After two years playing for the Blue Demons, he ended his career at Augustana College where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2009. He earned a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose in 2014.
