Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler joined the Millsaps coaching staff prior to the 2019-20 season.
Before arriving in Jackson she worked as an assistant coach at Thomas College (Waterville, Maine). While there she developed rapport with high-school coaches and athletes for compelling recruitment, broke down film and edited opponent game film, conducted position-specific player development workouts and aided in practice planning and game-day operations.
She also worked with the LSU women's basketball program from 2017-2019 where her duties included: daily practice set-up and break down, taking stats, working the clock in practice, aiding in individual workouts, laundry, packing and distributing gear, and travel with the team to away games.
A 2016 graduate of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, Kriesel-Bigler started 103 of 104 games played in a four-year career, accumulating 1,397 points, 319 rebounds, 445 assists, 30 blocks and 100 steals.
A 2016 WBCA All-America honorable mention, she ranked second in school history upon her graduation in three-pointers made and assists, third in assists per game, fourth in free throw percentage, sixth in points, field goals made and three-point percentage, eighth in points per game, 13th in blocked shots and 24th in steals.
Kriesel-Bigler, a four-year letterwinner, received honors from the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) in each of her four seasons. The 2012-13 SAA Newcomer of the Year, she also received honorable mention all-league honors as a freshman before moving up to second-team honors in 2013-14 and 2014-15 and, finally, first-team honors in 2015-16.
A native of Austin, Texas, Kriesel-Bigler was a two-year starter at L.C. Anderson High School where she helped the Lady Trojans to an undefeated record in district play and won a Bi-District playoff game.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in psychology from Hendrix in 2016. She also holds a masters degree with a concentration in pedagogy and psychological science from LSU.
