Millsaps College Athletics

Lauren Samford joined the Millsaps College women's soccer staff as an assistant coach in August 2023 and currently serves as the Department of Athletics Coordinator.

Samford holds several roles within the Millsaps College Department of Athletics, assisting with the annual Golden M Awards, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, game-day administration, and Club 40 initiatives.

Last season, Samford worked as the assistant coach for Millsaps College's first-ever women's flag football team. In addition, she also helped as an assistant coach for Brilla Juniors from August 2024 to May 2026, a youth soccer coach for Soccer Shots Jackson Metro from March 2022 to July 2025, and the U8 girls' coach for Richland Soccer Club from August 2022 to April 2024.

Samford recently earned her Master of Sports Administration from Belhaven University in the summer of 2025. During her graduate studies, she was recognized three times on the President's List and once on the Dean's List.

Prior to receiving her master's degree, Samford was an undergraduate student at Belhaven University and a member of the women's soccer team for the Blazers under head coach Kimberly Harrell.

While attending Belhaven, she was listed on the dean's list twice and made the president's list during the Fall of 2022, where she was also a team captain on the women's soccer team.

Her dedication was recognized as an ASC Academic and All-Conference Player in 2021 and a United Soccer Coaches 2022 College Player Award of Distinction.

Following a standout career with the Blazers, she graduated with honors while receiving her Bachelor of Sports Management degree from the university as well.

Samford opened her collegiate career at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, where she was a two-time ASC champion while gaining experience in the NCAA Division III Tournament. From 2020 to 2021, Samford was a member of the Student Activities Club at HSU, where she was listed on both the president's and dean's lists.

She holds a U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License. Samford resides in Jackson and has a dog named Remy.
