Millsaps College Athletics

Willy Nelson’s joined the men’s and women’s tennis team as an assistant coach in 2018.

Before coming to Millsaps, Nelson completed a Masters in Business Administration while working as the graduate assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio for two years. 

He played his college tennis at The College of Wooster where he received All-Conference Honors in 2013 and 2014 and played mostly 1st singles and doubles. After graduating with a degree in geology, Nelson spent one year as the volunteer assistant tennis coach for Wooster.

Nelson is from Bemus Point, NY, and has spent several summers working as a tennis instructor around the northeast.
