Leah Hunter is entering her second season as an assistant coach for the Majors volleyball team.
Prior to arriving at Millsaps, Hunter served as the head coach for the Tsunami club volleyball team in 2006 and the Mississippi club volleyball team from 2011 to 2017. She was also the head volleyball coach at Jackson Preparatory High School and Middle School from 2014 to 2016.
Hunter played volleyball at Berry College from 2007 to 2010. She was part of the 2009 team that won the SAA Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. She was the captain her senior year while also being named all-SAA and the Viking Award winner. She graduated from Berry with a B.S. in psychology.
After graduating from Berry College she served in her second round of missions, focusing on environmental development in Nairobi, Kenya. She moved from Nairobi to Jackson in order to obtain her graduate degree in marriage and family therapy, which she completed in 2014.
She currently serves as the student life area coordinator for Millsaps. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the water with her husband and four dogs.
