The Millsaps College men's basketball team added to its staff by announcing
Griffin Levine as the program's next assistant coach in June 2025. Levine, an accomplished coach at the collegiate, international and prep level, brings several years of experience as a mentor and student-athlete.
"I am beyond excited to be joining the Millsaps College family," Levine said. "The people, campus and atmosphere of Millsaps is nothing short of major! I would like to thank Coach Kuykendall for having confidence in me and giving me this opportunity. I can't wait to get to work!"
Last season Levine was the men's basketball assistant coach at Trinity University in Texas, helping lead the Tigers to a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference division title (22-5, 14-2 SCAC). The Tigers were ninth in the country defensive efficiency, while also being ranked 10th in defensive effectiveness in 2023-24.
Levine was a student assistant coach in 2023-24 where Trinity claimed the SCAC regular-season crown (23-4, 14-2) and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. He was named to the SCAC Coaching Staff of the Year as well.
Levine has also gained experience on the international level. He will be the head men's basketball coach for Team USA (16u) at the 2025 International Maccabiah Games in Israel. Levine was previously the associate head coach for Team Dallas at the 2023 17u Maccabi Games.
A the prep level, Levine was the interim head junior varsity basketball coach as well as the interim assistant varsity baseball coach at Yavneh Academy of Dallas during 2020-21. He helped propel the JV squad to an undefeated season during the COVID-19 outbreak. Levine also helped the varsity team to a 17-5 record.
His playing career saw him compete for Trinity, the Pratt Institute and Maccabiah USA. With the Tigers he was on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, the leadership council and the NABC Honors Court.
He was the team captain for the Pratt Institute as well as All-ACAA First Team twice, Rookie of the Year and Student-Athlete of the Year. Additionally, he captained Maccabiah USA to a gold medal in 2017.
Levine obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Trinity University.
