JACKSON - The Millsaps Majors Volleyball team took on crosstown rivals Mississippi College in a mid-week showdown on Tuesday night in The Hanger Dome.  

Millsaps came out strong beating Mississippi College in three straight sets 25-22, 25-13,and 25-8. After a close first set, Mississippi College had no answer for the dominating offense of the Majors.

Caroline McKey led the Majors with nine kills, followed close behind by Kasey Laird and Raven Scott both racking up eight of their own.

As a team they ended the night with 39 kills to Mississippi College's 20.  

Defense was not lacking either, as both Laird and Mary Wilson had strong performances tallying 10 digs a piece, while Scott dominated over the net with 4 blocks. Other notable performances Sarah Zito who added 5 kills and 3 blocks, and Alex Morphew who also contributed 5 kills and a block assist.

This win puts the Majors at a strong 17-4 overall record as they continue on to play two more mid-week matches Thursday in Shreveport, Lousiana where they will take on Centenary College and Southern Arkansas University.  The first game is set for 4 p.m. This all leads up to the huge Blackout Game on Saturday afternoon as the Majors take on Berry which will be the deciding factor on the SAA Regular Season Champs.
