FOUR SCORE

Box Score

BIRMINGHAM- Mike Barthelemy rushed for 264 yards and four scores, leading the Majors to a 28-14 win over Birmingham Southern on Saturday to move to 6-0.

The Majors defense forced four turnovers, all fumbles and racked up six tackles for loss on the afternoon, limiting the Panther offense to just 14 points.

Barthelemy got his first score of the day on a one-yard plunge in the first quarter. The score was set up by a Zachary Borne rush to the Panther one yard line. The Majors forced the first of four fumbles on an ensuing drive by the Panthers. William Harrell punched the ball free from rusher Evan Kasian and Jeff Milner recovered the ball at the Majors 18 yard line.

Majors special teams forced the second turnover, a muffed punt by the BSC return man allowed Benton Brown to jump on the ball. Beau Brady missed a 37-yard field goal attempt and it remained 7-0.

The Majors capitalized on the third Panther fumble, this one forced by Alex Jackson and jumped on by Jonathan Moore. The fumble set up a short field for the Majors at the Panther 34 yard line, Barthelemy ran it in from 12 yards out and it was 14-0. The Panthers would respond with a 9-play 72-yard drive to make it 14-7 at the half.

BSC would take the opening kick-off 12-plays and 72-yards to tie the game at 14 on an eight-yard TD pass. It would stay tied through the third quarter as neither team could get the offense going.

Barthelemy took his first carry of the fourth quarter 72 yards inside the Panther 20 yard line. It would take the junior four more rushes to punch the ball into the endzone to make it 21-14 Majors.

The Panthers' fourth fumble of the game ended up in the hands of Blake Price on the next drive. The Majors would grind out a nine-play 71-yard drive, capped by a two-yard run by Barthelemy and sealing the Majors' sixth win of the year.

Millsaps now sits at 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in SAA play. They will continue their three-game road trip next weekend with a trip to Sewanee.
