Box Score BERRY, GA- The Millsaps Majors rallied behind Caroline McKey and Lexus Andrews to beat the Piedmont Lions in four sets at the Berry 10-year Volleyball Celebration.
McKey had 23 kills and 14 digs and Andrews had 18 kills to go with 13 digs as their double-doubles powered the comeback.
The Majors dropped a tough first set 25-22 and rallied behind service runs by Taylor Ziegler, McKey and Christina Tilton in the second. Andrews had four kills in a run that turned a 15-12 Millsaps lead to a 25-16 set win for the Majors.
Ziegler and Mary Wilson got hot during a Wilson service run as they teamed up for three points during a 6-0 run for the Majors in the third set. Courtney Huie had two kills down the stretch of the set to close out a 25-21 set as Millsaps took a 2-1 lead.
The Lions and Majors went back and forth in the fourth set that saw eight ties. Three separate kills from McKey tied the game at 23 then gave the Majors points 25 and 26 to clinch the match.
While McKey and Andrews led the way in kills, Ziegler was the table setter with 47 assists to go along with three aces and kills of her own. The defense was led by a team effort that saw five different players with double digit digs.
The Majors now sit at 14-13 overall and head to Atlanta tomorrow to take on Oglethorpe at 11AM central time.
