Box Score ATLANTA, GA- The Millsaps Majors won the fourth and fifth set to complete a come-from-behind victory over the Covenant Scots on Saturday at Oglethorpe.
After dropping the middle two sets, the Majors rallied back with a 25-15 fourth-set victory and a 15-6 rout in the deciding fifth set.
Four Majors had double-doubles led by Caroline McKey who recorded 17 kills and a game-high 26 digs in the victory. Lexus Andrews led the team with 18 kills and had 22 digs, Ashley Zamjahn had 11 kills and 19 digs while Mary Wilson had 26 assists and 11 digs.
After dropping a back-and-forth third set to fall behind two sets to one, the Majors began the comeback midway through set four. Millsaps turned a nip-and-tuck set into a runaway with a 9-3 run. Mary Wilson serve rolled off five straight points and the Majors got kills from Payton Mansell, McKey and Andrews to close out the set.
Millsaps used the momentum from that run to win the first eight points of set five and nine of the first 10. Presley Stoltzfus had an ace and a pair of kills from both Andrews and Zamjahn helped the Majors build a big lead. The Scots would never get within seven points after the run in set five as the Majors closed out the rally and the win.
The victory moves the Majors to 11-0 on the season. Next up for the Majors is the Berry Vikings on Sunday, first serve is set for 2pm EST/1pm CST.
