Box Score Jackson, MS – The Millsaps women's soccer team dropped their first home game of the weekend earlier tonight.
The Tigers 6-1 win improves them to 8-3-2 on the year while the Majors fall to 3-11-1. As part of the continued effort to raise awareness for breast cancer awareness, the Majors wore all pink uniforms for tonight's game, which kicked off 'Major Fest'.
Sewanee scored first on an early goal from Kaylee Pierson four minutes into the game. Erin Gill added another in the 20th minute followed by another Pierson goal in the 24th minute.
The Majors trailed 3-0 at the half, as they stated six saves on 13 first half shots. The Tigers totaled 24 shots on the day and recorded three saves.
In the second half, Olivia O'Brien and Dayla LaRocque added two more goals for the Tigers while Kaylee Pierson scored another to close out the game.
Senior Lindy Robichaux scored the goal for the Majors in the second half following a handball in the Tigers 18-yard box. Robichaux, who leads the Majors with six goals, buried the penalty kick shot into the back of the net to give Millsaps their first score of the day.
Tonight's loss drops the Majors to 3-11-1, as they will look to regroup later this weekend against Centre for the regular season home finale. The Majors Senior Day kicks off at 12 pm this Sunday, Oct. 18th.
