Box Score Jackson, MS – The Majors volleyball team fell in their second weekend game earlier today against Berry.
The SAA matchup marked the third conference game of the season for the Majors, as they fall to 5-7 on the year (1-2 in SAA play).
Berry, who improves to 9-3, traveled to the Hangar Dome after falling to Birmingham Southern.
The two teams began the day with an intense back-and-forth first set. The first set featured 11 different ties, as the energetic home crowd witnessed perhaps the most intense game of the weekend.
The two teams swapped points until playing to a 25-25 tie. Needing to win by two, the Vikings of Berry finished the dramatic first set by scoring the final points, winning 27-25.
Berry used the positive momentum to win the second set as they never trailed en route to a 25-10 win.
Senior Olivia Kleyer led the Majors in kills on the day with 10, as sophomores Presley Stoltzfus and Ashley Zamjahn led in digs with 17 each.
Berry won the third and final set, leaving them the victor three sets to none. The win improves Berry to 9-3 on the year and 1-1 in conference play.
The Majors will look to rebound this Tuesday for a road game just down the road on Riverside Drive.
