Millsaps Women's Soccer Falls in Close Game on the Road

Pineville, LA – The Millsaps women's soccer team lost a close game earlier today to the Louisiana College Wildcats.

The Majors fell in a close game played on the road despite outshooting Louisiana College 11-8 (7-3 in the second half).

The matchup against the Wildcats marked the second straight road game for the Majors as they fell by a score of 2-0.  It also marks the second time in three years where the Majors have started the season with two straight road games.

Mckenzie Bodin scored the first goal for Louisiana College off a Jayme Harmon assist 22 minutes into the first half.  Bodin's score was the only goal in the first period as Louisiana College led 1-0 at halftime.

With less than 20 minutes to play, Jayme Harmon was able to get on the stat sheet again by scoring an unassisted goal.  Harmon's score was the last of the game as Louisiana College improved to a record of 2-0 on the season.

The Majors had four saves on the evening by starting goalkeeper Olivia Gattuso.  Senior Lindy Robichaux led the team in shot totals with four.

Up next for the Millsaps women's soccer team is a home opener this Monday, Sept. 7th at Harper Davis Field for an 11 am kickoff against Asbury University.
