JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's soccer team head to Birmingham, Al. to face the LaGrange College Panthers(1-11-2) on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The Majors (1-10-1), coming off a rough weekend on the road in conference play, are playing a rare non-conference game this deep into the schedule against LaGrange.
Despite tough losses, the Majors have seen improvements of late, with Molly Ambrose and goalkeeper Olivia Gattuso being bright spots on the team. Ambrose has run away with the lead in goals on the team, scoring five on the season. Gattuso has saved 107 goals on a large volume of shots faced.
LaGrange has been on a losing streak, dropping their last seven. LaGrange has scored eight goals on the year, led by Taylor Poole with three. Jesse Grogan has been their starting goalkeeper for most of the year, making 58 saves on the season.
The last time Women's Soccer met with LaGrange in 2013, the Panthers came out on top of the Majors 1-0. The Majors will be looking to avenge that loss on Wednesday.
Kickoff for Wednesday vs. LaGrange is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Birmingham, AL.
