JACKSON, Miss. – Millsaps Women's Volleyball will be hitting to road to travel to Birmingham, AL to face Birmignham-Southern(16-4, 9-2) tonight at 6p.m.
The Majors have been 4-3 in their last seven games, including sporting a 4-1 record at home, marking this current stretch their best of the year. Millsaps is also coming off a week where Ashley Zamjahn was named SAA Defensive Player of the Week after averaging eight digs per set and Regan Riddle drew SAA honorable mention considerations for her offensive play.
Millsaps will be led on defense by libero Ashley Zamjahn, who leads the team in digs and just put on a great showing against Centre College, Austin College, and Sewanee the past weekend. Offensively, Morgan Vincent, Regan Riddle, and Erica Bennett, have led the way all year, making up for over seven kills per set. Another vital player to the Majors' gameplan is setter Shelby Marsh, who leads the team in assists on offense.
Birmingham-Southern sports the best overall win percentage of any team in the SAA and stand at 2nd in the conference overall with a record of 9-2. They are led on defense by libero Caroline Johnson and on offense by Jeneva Salter. The Majors will be looking to pull the upset off tonight on the road.
