Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Men's Basketball Team fell in their opening game of the weekend to Hendrix earlier tonight by a score of 69-62.
Hendrix snaps a two-game win streak for Millsaps, as the Majors were outscored 39-32 in the second half. After a 30-30 tie at halftime, Hendrix took the lead on an 8-2 run – and never looked back. Millsaps would threaten several times in tonight's contest, which featured seven ties and three lead changes, but eventually fell 69-62.
Tonight's contest also marked Senior Night for the Majors, as a special presentation was held prior to tip off to honor the outstanding careers of three seniors.

Rajan Hanstad and
Alex Gerchow will all graduate this season after successful playing careers with the Majors.
In the first half, Millsaps took an early lead with a layup by
Quinn Atkinson. Hendrix answered quickly to begin the back and forth first half. With two minutes remaining in the half,
Logan Mancuso made a layup to give Millsaps a 30-28 lead. Hendrix, however, tied the game with a quick layup to end the first 20 minutes of play.
In the second half, the Warriors started fast with a five consecutive points. From there, the Warriors never looked back or trailed to earn the win.
The Majors fought back to make the contest a two-possession game, but Hendrix held off the come back effort to earn their fourth win of the year.
Recent Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week,
Quinn Atkinson led the Majors in scoring with 21 points.
Marc Robertson finished close behind with 18 while
Trent Markwith totaled 11.
Millsaps outscored Hendrix for points in the paint 32-22 while finishing 24-47 (51%) from the field and 2-9 (22%) on three pointers.
The Majors will look to rebound with the final regular season home game scheduled later for later this weekend. Next up for Millsaps Men's Basketball is a matchup with Rhodes. Tip off against the Lynx is set for this Sunday, Feb. 21st at 3:00 pm.
