Box Score Jackson, MS – The Millsaps Baseball team fell to the Belhaven Blazers by a score of 8-6 Wednesday afternoon.
The midweek non-conference matchup marks the third and final game in the season series between the local rivals. After taking the series with a win Tuesday night, the Majors dropped to 13-13 on the year with an 8-6 defeat on Wednesday. Blazers' starting pitcher Brick Pugh earns his first win of the season, as the Majors were held to six runs on six hits and three errors.
After a 1-1 tie in the second, the Majors were outscored 7-5 in the remaining seven innings.
Isaac Glenn began a comeback rally in ninth with a two run homerun – his first of the season – but the comeback effort fell short as the Blazers eventually earned the 8-6 win.
With the win, Belhaven improves to 14-9 while the Majors drop to 13-13 with a conference series scheduled for this weekend at Twenty Field.

Belhaven scored twice in the top of the ninth to lead 8-4. Down to their last three outs and trailing by four runs, the Majors began to mount a comeback rally in the bottom of the ninth.
Drew Wray got things started reaching first on a fielding error by Belhaven. Sophomore
Patrick Grumbley then stepped in to pinch run for Wray. With an out on the board and a runner on,
Isaac Glenn stepped up to bat.
Glenn delivered with his first homerun of the season on a long two-run shot to right center. Glenn's homer scored Grumbley and cut the deficit to two runs. Belhaven, however, closed out the game with a ground out to third and strike out to earn the 8-6 win.
Now at 13-13 (6-6), the Majors will look to rebound with a conference series scheduled later this weekend at home. The Sewanee Tigers will travel to Twenty Field to face Millsaps with a double-header scheduled for Saturday.
