Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Millsaps women's volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-21) win over LaGrange College in the final day of the Rhodes College Tournament.
The Majors (2-2) proved that all was not lost by picking up the last three sets of a four set match against the 4-2 Pouncers on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Millsaps outplayed LaGrange in every offensive statistic, recording 52 kills and 139 total attacks for a .151 hitting percentage while holding their opponent to 39 kills and 131 total attacks for a .069 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Majors grabbed 56 digs, 20 block assist, and one block solo while the Pouncers recorded 50 digs and 14 block assists.
Morgan Vincent led the Major offensive effort with 17 total kills while
Shelby Marsh lent three server aces and 22 assist.
Ashley Zamjahn tallied a game high of 21 digs and Reagan Riddle recorded a game high of 6 blocks.
The Majors will have seven days to prepare for their next match. The volleyball team will travel to Danville, KY to face Centre College on Saturday, Sept. 17. The first serve is scheduled or 1 p.m.
