Box Score SHREVEPORT, La. – The Millsaps College women's soccer team face Centenary College on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in Shreveport, La. The Majors (0-4-1) fell 4-1 to the Ladies (4-1) during the early evening competition.
Major Oliva Gattuso showed true athleticism guarding the Millsaps goal to record 12 saves. Despite her effort, Centenary was persistent and managed to steer four goals passed Gattuso.
The Major offense was not as fortunate as the Ladies and scored one goal out of 14 shots taken.
Grayston Barron led Millsaps in shots, tallying leading six shots with one on goal.
Molly Ambrose was not far behing Barrow in shots with five shots taken and one shot on goal.
Emily Gager, freshman midfielder, took one shot on goal for the Majors lone goal of the day.
The Majors will get a second opportunity for a win this week on Friday, Sept. 16 when they travel down the road to Clinton, Miss. to face Mississppi College. To prepare for this competition, Millsaps must work on helping the goalie guard the goal and increasing the accuracy of their shots.
